MEET MARY

Mary Cox, Evanston Personal Trainer

Five  years ago, I decided to turn my passion into my profession.  My tastes and hobbies have morphed over the years but the one thing that has remained constant is my love of exercise and the empowerment of being strong.

My training philosophy is to focus on functional training that keeps your body guessing with a mix of different, fun and scientifically supported exercises. Depending on your fitness goals, this approach builds muscular strength (often in muscles you never knew you had) as well as cardiovascular endurance.  My group classes offer a supportive and challenging environment while my one-on-one sessions offer an opportunity to create a tailor made program based on specific goals.  Across the board, though, all of my clients feel more energized, stronger and empowered.

When I am not training others I enjoy running, tennis, yoga, cycling and strength training.  I know that exercise offers me a chance to challenge my mental state, feel strong, and gain confidence.  I feel honored that my profession now allows me to help others (re) discover these experiences as well.
